Assistant General Manager
   Potbelly Sandwich Works. October 2010 – present.
  • Managing a fast-paced, high-volume, customer-focused restaurant through organization and coordination of schedules, supervision and counseling of employees, problem-solving, maintaining cleanliness, execution of marketing plans, training employees and providing great customer service.
  • Train, coach and develop Potbelly Associates and Shift Leaders as well as conducting weekly feedback sessions and leadership performance appraisals.
  • Know, enforce, and educate Associates, Certified Trainers and Shift Leaders on all of the appropriate personnel policies, labor laws, and security and safety procedures and maintain critical standards for raw and unfinished product quality, service speak, cleanliness and sanitation.
  • Effectively drive local store marketing and promotions to maximize sales potential, including sourcing and blitzing outside of store for recruiting and marketing purposes.Develop musician schedule.

Vendor Coordinator/Secretary – Board Member
   Art on Alberta, Portland, OR. February 2009 - November 2010.
  • Committed to promoting the Alberta Art district's distinct cultural identity through art and educational activities.
  • Coordinated 11th Annual Art Hop 2010 with Combustible Media – a one day art festival in May which has an annual theme and displays local artists of various disciplines, juried exhibits, and performances along a 17-block stretch of NE Alberta Street bringing in over 25,000 people - working with the city for road closures, barricades, bus re-routing etc.
  • Developed two smaller fundraising events to fund Art Hop 2010 which brought in approximately $3,000.
  • Recruitment of vendors through relationship building during local community events as well as marketing the benefits of AoA membership to increase applications and donations; vendors constitute the bulk funding to and attraction of Art Hop.
  • Currently part of the core AoA team working with George Thorn under the Cultural Leadership Grant from RACC; writing the first draft of the business plan to open an arts center in the community
  • Secretary duties include documenting meeting minutes, attendance to email updates and development materials as needed.

Restaurant Manager
   Joe’s Crab Shack, Vancouver, WA. April 2009 - May 2010. 
  • Directed sales and profitability of high-image full service concept restaurant generating up to $2.6 million in annual sales managing both front and back of house operations. Daily inventory reconciliation as well as product ordering.
  • Effectively led and motivated employees through implementation of in-house training and incentive plans, resulting in increased productivity levels and employee satisfaction successfully boosting sales as well.
  • Revamped service schedule to become #1, 2 or 3 in all nationwide monthly contests since May ‘09 out of 150 restaurants.
  • Prepared sales budgets and labor, managed sales analysis, forecasting, and reporting activities. Extensive P&L experience in standardization of portions and implementation of labor cost controls always within weekly company standard.
  • In charge of 60+ shift associates including wait staff and hosts. Directed efficient guest flow through participative shift management and effective weekly staff scheduling; hospitality focused.
  • Attracted, retained, and promoted new business through proactive community sponsorship; Oversaw brand ambassador to develop and implement product marketing strategies including local store marketing. 

Regional Manager - promoted from Store Manager 
   Portrait Innovations, HQ in Charlotte, NC. October 2004 - May 2008. 
  • Responsible for management, training, labor planning, yearly budget goal of $8 million and direction of 20 stores with 175 respective management and personnel in the mid/west U.S region reporting directly to the VP of Studio Operations.
  • Took over the bottom region in the company and within one year it ranked #2 in revenue, average and customer service.
  • Developed short term and extended goals with a focus on personnel retention and motivation, overall budgets, and customer service. Identified areas where the most improvement could be realized and implemented regional procedures to achieve considerable enhancement. Sales increased significantly by streamlining operations more efficiently in sales presentations and studio operations without compromising service and value. Personally carried one of the top sales averages.
  • Authored and developed workshops used to create the companywide management training program for all perspective management personnel teaching quality policies, service, and procedures. Focused on creating a “people first” environment. Recognized for cultivating long term, stable staff with team-player philosophies.
  • Budget responsibility, goal tracking and projections, human resources, training, proper maintenance were all topics of accountability at each studio visited once per quarter. Traveled 2 weeks each month throughout the western region, otherwise coordinated daily operations of quality, efficiency, and logistics from Portland Oregon.
  • Attended tri-annual meetings representing the largest region in the company giving presentations on current business, structured goals, and new procedures for sales, training, and motivation for study and sales force.
